History: Wiki Link!

Kravitz has mostly forgotten his childhood, as it was... a very very long time ago. I headcanon that it was more-or-less normal - two parents, a couple of siblings, friends, fights, hobbies (music and conducting), and a lot of sadness when he died so young. After death, he was called on by the Raven Queen and granted a modicum of her power as more-or-less a paladin might be, protecting the natural order of the world and preventing mortals from cheating death. He became, in his own words, a bounty hunter, where bounties are racked up on those who escape a natural end. In his first appearance in canon, which is not on the wiki for SOME REASON, Kravitz was hunting Los Tres Horny Boys for their crimes against the Raven Queen's laws of order, dozens of deaths they didn't even remember, attempting to kill them and nearly succeeding on several occasions. After his defeat, though, he allowed them to leave, predicting their bounties would only get higher. He was right, and reunited with Taako later on peaceful terms, trying to talk business while Taako was more interested in dating him. He became suspicious of the presence of a powerful undead after the date, but was unsure of the location thereof. He attempted to locate the potential lich - later revealed to be Lup - and the umbra staff she inhabited nearly shot him, only to be stopped by Taako, who pointed the gout of fire skywards. He gave up the hunt after that distraction, and left, returning to his home on the astral plane after thanking Taako for the unique experience.

After that, Kravitz next appeared in a rift to the astral plane, drowning in the inky darkness of the extraplanar threat known only as The Hunger. He managed to escape, and make it to the Eternal Stockade, only to realize he could no longer contact or access the power of the Raven Queen beyond what had been entrusted to him already. He could not cast spells, and was functionally lost, trapped and alone in the drowning, dying astral plane.

Personality: Kravitz is above and beyond all else, a pragmatist. If something is difficult now, there may be a time when it is easier. If such an action is profitable now, there's a chance it will have a greater return later. This was the logic he used when he allowed the protagonists of TAZ to escape. However, he does have some preconceived notions. If a pattern is made, it should be followed, whether the rhythm of a song established by a conductor's baton or the natural order established by the Raven Queen's will. He expects things to continue, and it frustrates - and sometimes scares - him when things don't work out the way he thinks they should.

That's not to say he doesn't have human warmth and dependencies. He just hasn't realized them in a while. He's able to feel love and compassion. He's able to feel scared. He just represses everything REALLY FREAKING HARD so he can do his job. However, when he does open up, when he drops his professionalism, basically when he's around the people willing to show him basic mortal kindness (read: Taako), he's a different person. Not only does he drop his working accent (cockney, affected), he actually can be a creative and warm individual. He's awkward as hell, due to lack of practice, but he's got a gentle, tired side too.

At his canon point, Kravitz has been abandoned by the Raven Queen. He wants to escape his personal hell, but can't even access enough of her power to open gaps between the planes, mostly because the hunger is blocking it. He's scared, and wants to see Taako again before the world ends.

Kravitz is shrewd and cunning, as expressed when he pulls one over on Merle. He's not afraid to play dirty to reach his goals.

Kravitz is a warrior and an artist. He's not the best with his hands. He devotes himself to causes and people wholeheartedly, but isn't afraid to give up for a time and retreat until things get easier, more profitable, or both. He's just a guy, except he's also dead and has a fragment of the power of the goddess of the natural order within him. Also he's stupidly hot but doesn't realize this.

Fears: Being alone. Being abandoned. Things falling beyond his ability to affect. The Hunger. The death of the planes. Losing his important people.

Weaknesses: Kravitz is not exactly weak in any regard, but at this point has no divine backing of any kind. He's unable to cast spells or open rifts between the astral and material on his own. He's little more than a ghost with a little more form than most.

Mundane Strengths/Abilities: Kravitz is... really good with a scythe. He can throw his voice and is good at imitating voices.

Sensitivity/Magical Ability: Kravitz is INSANELY sensitive to the flow of life and death. He can sense the undead, and sense if people have died before, and if they've died since the last time he's seen them, though he relies on his record book for exact counts. He can shift forms between a mote of light, a grim reaper (Let's Get Dangerous form), and a physical man, and possess and control objects in the former shape. Normally he can also open rifts to the astral plane, and contact his goddess, but he's unable to do so at this time. He can call his scythe to him from hammerspace, as well.

Supply List: 1 scythe (in hammerspace)
1 cape and cowl
1 suit (very nice)

Game Transfers: N/A

Sample RP post: Kravitz is tired. His legs feel like lead as he shifts them off the narrow bed, and his arms barely raise to rub his face. Swimming through that nightmare, that blackness thicker and more cloying than treacle, did a number to him. He doesn't want to look around, doesn't want to see if he's been imprisoned in a cell he used to help guard, but he does eventually, lowering his hands a bit to expose his eyes.

... This is not the Eternal Stockade. This is not even the astral plane. This looks like a shitty basement bedroom.

Slowly, he stumbles out of bed. These are not his clothes. Gone is the tailored suit, gone is his cowl... He grumbles, the area around his eyes briefly looking more skeletal as his frustration gets out of hand. If this is a dream, it's boring. If this isn't a dream, he's in trouble. Slowly, shakily, he lifts himself onto his feet, groaning at the discomfort. He'll feel better soon, but for now it's like he'd been running a gauntlet and an iron man at the same time. He's sore.

Questions arise in his mind, and he numbers them as he steps slowly and stiffly towards the door. One: If this isn't the astral plane, then how'd he get out? Two: If this isn't the astral plane, which one is it? Three: What even was all that? Four: How does he find help for back home? Five: Does wherever this is have ibuprofen yet?

With those and other questions swirling through his mind, he leans against the door, listening carefully. Not much sound. Real wood. Hmm. He's probably in a physical space. The door opens, so it's not an imitation or prison... But if he's going to do this, it'd be better to be stealthy. Plus your body can't hurt when you're not simulating one. He dissolves in the doorway, becoming a matterless wisp of light, and begins floating away, perceiving his surroundings without seeing, listening without hearing, sensing life and death without whatever organs he may or may not have for that. This whole place feels...

... It feels wrong.
